Esther Julia Benfer, age 97, of Metamora, Ohio, passed away early Saturday morning, April 11, 2009 at Lynwood Manor in Adrian, Michigan. She was born October 3, 1911 in Metamora, Ohio to the late Ruben and Beulah E. (Sinclair) Benfer.

Esther was a homemaker and worked on the farm at the hatchery. She was a life member of the Metamora United Methodist Church. Esther was a wonderful baker. She will be remembered for her delicious angel food wedding cakes.

She is survived by her friend, Harriet (Marion) Loar and extended church family.

Friends and family may visit Wednesday, April 15th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Duane Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
