Ellen Marie Matzinger

Graveside Services: Monday, June 4th at 1:00 pm at Sharples Cemetery

Ellen Marie Matzinger, age 90, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Thursday afternoon, May 31, 2012. She was born June 11, 1921 in Sylvania, Ohio to Elson and Theresa (Marsh) Pemberton. She married Raymond Matzinger on May 3, 1947, and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2003. She and her husband operated a chicken farm on 295 in Harding Township. Ellen also worked as a secretary for a law firm in Toledo, and for Willis Motin, retiring in 1956.

Ellen was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton, and Order of the Eastern Star Toledo Chapter #341.

Ellen will be remembered as a quiet woman with a kind and generous heart. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan Matzinger-Ritter (Thomas) of Moore Haven, FL and Steven Matzinger of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer Taft, Melissa Warncke, Theresa Ritter, and Jamie Matzinger; great-grandchildren, Zach and Tyler Taft, Kyle and Kaysie Gunn, and Colton Matzinger.

Besides her husband, Raymond; Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alfred Pemberton; and sister, Phyllis Powers.

Family and friends may gather at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton on

Monday, June 4th at 12:30 p.m.. A funeral procession will depart at 12:45

p.m. for Sharples Cemetery, located at the corner of St. Rt. 295 and Angola

Road, where a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Barbara

Jean Pope officiating.

A special thank you to the staff at Elizabeth Scott Community for the care given to Ellen the past 10 months of her residence.
