Elizabeth Mary Chamberlain, age 96, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born November 10, 1915 in Wauseon, Ohio to the late Harmon and Matilda (Miller) Flory. She married Ovid Chamberlain on January 23, 1935, and he preceded her in death on January 24, 1998.
Elizabeth was a homemaker. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Up until a year ago, she would set up a vegetable stand in her front yard and share her bountiful harvest with friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and attending craft shows. She and her husband spent many winters in Florida and fishing was a favorite pastime.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Catherine (Robert) Lemmerbrock, Raymond (Kathleen) Chamberlain, Lyle (Linda) Chamberlain and Linda (Michael) Buck; sister, Rose Lambert; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband Ovid, of 63 years, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Shroyer and Lucille Lambert; and brother, Anthony Flory.
Family and friends may visit Friday, April 6th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. James Nixon officiating. Interment will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
