Eileen C. Montgomery, age 93, of Toledo, Ohio, formerly of Metamora, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, Thursday, June 9, 2011. She was born November 17, 1917 in Toledo, Ohio to Frank R. and Dorothy (Sattler) Miller. Eileen served as an officer in the United States Army Nursing Corp and was a WWII Veteran. On June 11, 1945, she married Thomas Edward Montgomery. He preceded her in death October 23, 2004.

Eileen attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish, where she was a member of the church’s Cursillo Community. She was an avid button collector and enjoyed playing hymns on the piano and organ. She was the church organist at the former Our Lady of Fatima in Lyons, Ohio.

Eileen is survived by her children, Thomas, Jr. (Dianne) Montgomery, Cathy Middleton, Sara Meyers, and Patrick Montgomery; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Edith Young and Betty Montgomery.

Besides her husband, Thomas, Sr., Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Joseph Miller.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill Ave. in Toledo on Wednesday, June 15th at 10:00 a.m., with Fr. James Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery in Lyons.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
