Edna Mohr, age 100, of Swanton, Ohio, died peacefully Saturday evening, January 25, 2025 at Lakes of Monclova. Edna was born September 20, 1924 in Coal Creek, Tennessee to William H. and Maggie (Cox) Hatmaker. Edna worked as an office clerk for Gladieux Catering many years.
In 1930, she moved to Northwest Ohio where she later met and married her husband, Carey Mohr. Edna worked many jobs in her life including factory work, thrift stores, laundromat and commissaries...anything to keep her busy. Edna took pride in her independence after Carey passed away in 1983, even after her stroke in 2011. She overcame losing her speech briefly which spoke volumes to her determination and love for communicating with words. Edna was very intelligent and frugal. She enjoyed helping people any way she could, as well as, keeping a close eye on her surroundings. She was known for her problem solving and turning nothing into something. Since she was a little girl, Edna loved books, animals, nature, puzzles. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family. Family gatherings were a treasure for her.
Edna is survived by her sons, David (Carolyn) Mohr and Jeff (Peggy) Mohr; sister, Sue Clifford; grandchildren, Andy (Lynda) Mohr, Joshua (Ashley) Mohr, Jacob (Elizabeth) Mohr, Benjamin (Mindy) Mohr and Amos Mohr; great-grandchildren, Heather, Devin, Ryan, Ava, Gage, Emma, Luke, Jace, Ella, Zoey and Gunner.
Besides her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Carey Mohr and sister, Ruby Smith.
