Dorothy Lee Slemp, age 75, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday afternoon, January 21, 2012, in her home, surrounded by members of her loving family. She was born September 23, 1936 in Harborview, Ohio to Everell and Elizabeth (Foust) Stukey. Dorothy was a 1954 graduate of Swanton High School. On November 8, 1955, she married her beloved husband, Howard Slemp of Marion, Virginia. Dorothy was a homemaker raising their two daughters. She was an accomplished tole and decorative artist.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 56 years, Howard; daughters, Rebecca Mayberry of Sterling Heights, MI and Linda (George) Timpe of Delta, OH; 6 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Alicia) Ritzenthaler, Samantha (Josh) Humberger, Jonathan (RayLynn) Harter, Brian (Robin) Timpe, Daniel Timpe, and Caitlin Harter; 6 great-grandchildren, Trinity, Brook, Summer, Amanda, AvaLynn, and Caleb; brother, Bill (Marilyn) Stukey; sister, Carole Hahn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters, Ruth VanTil and Mary Underwood.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, January 26th from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Services celebrating her life will be held Friday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at East Swanton Cemetery.
