Dorothy J. Robasser

Dorothy J. Robasser, age 91, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born April 24, 1922 in Wauseon, Ohio to Lawrence C. and Mabel (Dietrich) Clark, and was a 1940 graduate of Wauseon High School. Dorothy married Vern Marion Robasser (Scrub) on October 13, 1944, he preceded her in death on March 24, 1994.

Dorothy worked for the Flashlight Factory in Wauseon and Brockoff Dry Goods. She was an avid mushroom hunter, Ohio State fan, and loved to cook, bake and go to the casinos with her friends. Dorothy was very involved with the Swanton American Legion Auxiliary Unit #479, where she was past treasurer for many years, past unit president, and past Fulton County president. She was also a member of the Swanton VFW Memorial Post #8598.

One of Dorothy's greatest accomplishments in life was obtaining her first driver's license at the age of 70, scoring 100% on both the written and driving exam. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She will be truly missed by all.

Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her children, Candy (Bill) Keener, Donald (Dorothy) Robasser, Barbara (Aaron) Babcock, Alan Robasser, and Joel (Robin) Robasser; 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Frances Sunday.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Denver Clark and Lawrence Clark, Jr.; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Messer, and grand-daughter-in-law, Jennifer Babcock.

Family and friends may visit Thursday, April 17th from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631). Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor JT Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
