Dorothy Eileen Forrest

Dorothy Eileen Forrest, age 89, life-long resident of Swanton, Ohio, entered into eternal life, Thursday morning, April 9, 2015, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. Dorothy was born February 19, 1926 in Swanton to John and Florence (Hatfield) Estel. On October 22, 1949, she married her beloved husband, David Forrest, Jr.

Dorothy was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish. She thoroughly enjoyed 16 years working for The Andersons, and in her spare time, her favorite activities were taking outside walks and shopping. Most of all, Dorothy loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, David; sons, Richard Forrest of Phoenix, AZ and Gary (Sue) Forrest of Swanton, OH; daughter, Diane Forrest of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Jamie (Jenni) Forrest, Jenelle (Wes) Stevens, Christy (Michael) Layman, Carly Howard, Kyle (Caytie) Forrest, Ray Lynn Forrest, and Ryan (Alma) Howard; great-grandchildren, Emma and Taylor Forrest, Brodie, Kinsey and Gabe Stevens, Ayden and Lola Jimenez, Eliana Howard, Abrielle, Daniella and Maria Howard, Caleb, Grace, Ethan, Hannah and Zachariah Layman, and Bentlee and Aubree Forrest; as well as her brother, John (Marilyn) Estel.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Jeanette, Irene, Marie and Alfreda; and her brother-in-law, Donald Forrest.

Family and friends may visit Sunday, April 12th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz officiating. Interment will follow at St. Richard's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
