Donna May Gallup, age 71, of Lyons, Ohio, entered into eternal life, Monday morning, January 31, 2011, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 14, 1939 in Berkey, Ohio to Leo and Rosella (Miller) Eisel. She graduated from Metamora High School in 1957. Donna married Richard Gallup on January 9, 1960.
She was a very active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Altar Rosary Society, and election board. Donna was well known for her cooking, and she loved to quilt and crochet. She had a strong dedication to her family, friends, neighbors, and the farm. Donna was a founding partner in State Line Farms and the cement that held it together during difficult times.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 51 years, Richard; children, Gary (Laura) Gallup, Barbara (Roy) Kunkle, Linda Gallup, Sharon (Matthew) Mignin, and Amy (Joe) Frasier; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Mitchell Gallup, Jessie, Glen, and Dillon Kunkle, Elizabeth Mignin, and Logan and Dalton Frasier; siblings, Charles and Orville Eisel, Helen Grime, Marie Messner, Rose Gleckler, Carol Gleckler, and Alice Mack; sisters-in- law, Joyce Eisel and Rosemary Pontius.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Rita Lumbrezer and Louella Eisel; and brothers, Jim and Leon Eisel.
Family and friends may visit Thursday, February 3rd from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora, where a Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, February 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Ron Schock and Fr. Steven Majoros officiating. Interment will follow at Lyons Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fulton and Williams County Hospice.
