Donald M. Mikola, age 79, of Delta, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Arbors at Sylvania, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 2, 1929 in Swanton, Ohio to Andrew and Nora (Proudfoot). On June 24th, 1950, he married Olive Rose Schneider.

Don was a member of St. Richard Catholic Parish, Charter member of the Swanton Elks, and the Delta Eagles. Don loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing cards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Olive Rose; son, Ronald Mikola of Swanton, OH; daughters, Connie (Bill) Sturtevant of Swanton, OH and Pam (Tom) Tolford of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, Jay (Jen) Ronau, Jeff (Amanda) Mann, Cassie (Vic) Hartzell, and Kris (Jessica) Ronau; great-grandchildren, Mirabella Mann-Ray and Ashley Hartzell, and son-in-law, Burton Mann.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Peggy Mann; brothers, Mick, Leo, Marcus and Bob Mikola, and sister, Jeanette Mason.

Family and friends may visit Friday, January 30th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, January 31st at 10:30 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton. Fr. Robert Holden will officiate. Interment will take place in St. Richard Memorial Garden at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Richard Parish, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
