Donald L. Forrest, age 84, of Swanton, Ohio, died Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, at Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born May 10, 1929 in Delta, Ohio to David, Sr. and Dorothy (Putnam) Forrest. Donald graduated from Fulton Centralized School, Class of ’47. On June 14, 1952, he married Phyllis Dennis. Donald devoted his time as her primary care giver until her death on December 13, 2001.

Donald worked at Toledo Desk, and retired from The Pilliod Company where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed fishing, archery, and model planes, and in his later years, he loved golfing and watching sports.

Donald is survived by his son, Timothy Forrest; daughter, Valerie (Marvin) Anderson; grandson, Joshua Anderson; granddaughter, Gabrielle (Jason) Wegner; brother, David, Jr. (Dorothy) Forrest; brother-in-law, Richard (Judy) Dennis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides his beloved wife, Phyllis, Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 7th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Fulton Union Cemetery.
