Diane M. Hobling

Diane M. Hobling, age 53, of Swanton, Ohio, reunited with her beloved husband, Butch, early Monday morning, September 2, 2013, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born September 17, 1959 to Donald and Agnes (Junk) Raab. Diane was a 1978 graduate of Evergreen High School. On March 28, 1980, she married the love of her life, Archie “Butch” Hobling. They enjoyed over 30 years together until his death on March 6, 2011.

She was employed by Schmidlin Greenhouse Inc. for 30 years and worked alongside her brother, Rick Raab at Midwest Drainage for the past 3 summers.

Diane enjoyed family vacations, racing, camping, and working on various outdoor projects. She loved gardening and painting, and will be remembered for her strong work ethic.

Most of all, Diane cherished her time with family and friends. This past year, she devoted her time to her grandson, Grant. Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Jamie Hobling and Alysia (Jeremiah) Snyder; grandson, Grant; mother, Agnes Mull; brothers, Rick (Kathy) Raab and Randy (Pam) Raab; sister, Bonnie Ochs; brother-in-law, Melvin Ellis; mother-in-law, Betty (Good) Hobling; and sister-in-law, Becky (Chuck) Fleming; as well as numerous extended family and friends whom she loved.

Besides her husband, Butch, Diane was preceded in death by her father, Donald Raab; brother, Ronald Raab; sister, Karen Ellis; stepfather, Robert Mull; and father-in-law, Melvin “Jim” Hobling.

Visitation will be held Sunday, September 8th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Services celebrating Diane's life will be held Monday, September 9th at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at a later date at Wolfinger Cemetery
