Della M. Shutters

Graveside Services: Wednesday, January 29th at 11:00 am at St. Richards Cemetery

Della M. Shutters, age 101, formerly of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, January 25, 2014, at Swan Pointe Care Center in Maumee, where she was known as "Queenie". She was born May 20, 1912 in Oneonta, New York. Della was the oldest child raised in an Italian family to Anthony and Mary (Dragone) Baldo. She married Raymond David Shutters, and he preceded her in death in 1966.

Della worked as an AT&T telephone operator for over 20 years. She remained independent in her Chicago home up until the age of 99, when her health caused her to move closer to her son.

Della is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, R. David and Vicki Shutters of Swanton; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty.

Besides her husband Raymond, Della was preceded in death by her parents; and 5 siblings.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 29th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Richard's Cemetery in Swanton.
