Dean Theodore Yedica, affectionately known as “Dino”, age 77, of Swanton, Ohio,
passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday evening, October 6, 2009. He was born September 9, 1932, in Swanton, Ohio, to Theodore R. and Ada (Williams) Yedica. He served as a proud member of the U.S. Army-Air Force. He worked at various trucking companies prior to purchasing his own. He was a hard worker and loved his job. Trucking was his life.
Dean enjoyed the outdoors, being around people, raising farm animals, fishing, and buying and selling junk. He made friends easily and would gladly help anyone in need. He was always joking and full of laughter until the very end. He also loved dining out at Bev’s Kold Keg.
He will be sadly missed by the love of his life, Joyce; stepson, Mike “Boots” (Robin) Hacker; brother, David Lee, of Napoleon, OH; sister, Juanita (Walt) Ellinwood of Citrus Springs, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Yedica; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by his daughter, Melody Jane, who lost her life in an auto accident in 1989; his brothers, George and Martin; and sisters, Donna, Betty and Thelma.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held Friday, October 9th, at 2:00 p.m. at Swanton Cemetery, with Rev. Brian Haller officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
The family would like to extend a very warm special “Thank You” to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg and to Jean Pennell, R.N., for their endless care, love and support in helping Dean. Thank you also to Maumee Internists, Inc. for so many years of care.
