David Scott Good

David Scott Good, of Berkey, Ohio, passed away 2 days shy of his 81st birthday. Born October 24, 1940 in McClure, Ohio, he was the only son of Doyle and Frances (Alspaugh) Good. Scott, as he liked to be called, was a 1958 graduate of Metamora High School. Scott enlisted in the United States Air Force, and following honorable discharge, married his beloved wife, Barbara Grabarczyk, on August 25, 1962.

Scott worked construction for several Northwest Ohio building firms, primarily as a dispatcher. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, Sylvania Moose Lodge #1579 and Sylvania American Legion Joseph W. Diehn Post #468. Scott also served on the Berkey Fire Department. Scott had a passion for keeping a meticulous lawn with the help of his John Deere mower, and loved a good game of golf.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Barbara, children, Tina (Michael) Werner, Timothy (Linda) Good, Tracy (Dennis) Finney and Todd (Jennifer) Good; 14 grandchildren, Courtney (Aaron) Hayes, Amber, Kelsey and Brittaney Werner, Ashley (Fiance, Zac), Tyler and Jordan Good, Rachel, Sarah and Emma Finney and Travis, Jay, Jessica and Austin Good and great-great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Amelia and Ryan. Scott is also survived by his sisters, Luann McKelvey and Sharon Ford, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Frances Good.

In keeping with Scott’s wishes, he will be cremated.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Scott will be held Sunday, November 14th at 12:00 (Noon) at the Sylvania Moose Lodge, 6072 Main Street, Sylvania, OH 43560.
