Charles M. White, age 89, of Swanton, Ohio, died Friday afternoon, November 14, 2008, at the Swanton Healthcare Center. He was born July 22, 1919, in Dean, West Virginia. He married Rose (Sedlar) Thatcher on December 18, 1999, and she survives.

Charles worked for Johns-Manville as a truck driver on the loading dock for 30 years, before retiring in 1977. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and was especially dedicated to feeding the squirrels.

Besides his loving wife, Rose, Charles is survived by his step-children, Barbara (Bob) Rose, Bruce (Sally) Thatcher, Joanne (Terry) Ohrman and Jeffery (Peggy) Thatcher; 9 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Friends and family may visit Monday, November 17th from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning, November 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Swanton Cemetery, Centerville Road. Rev. Donna Stutzman will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
