Charles C. Schuch, 88, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Swanton Health Care. Chuck worked as an assembler for GM Powertrain for 20 years and was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of the VFW #7574 Lyons Post, Lyons Volunteer Fire Department and Lyons Christian Church here he served as a Deacon, Elder and Trustee. Chuck enjoyed gardening and fishing but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 64 years Norma, son; Douglas (Pam ) of Wauseon, Ohio, daughters; Linda (Richard “Sam”) Gleckler of Lyons, Ohio and Pat Staples of Bellevue, Ohio, sister; Audrey Petersen, grandchildren; Brett and Shannon Gleckler, Branden Gleckler, Lyndsay Staples, Ben and Brittany Staples, Tyler and Brittany Schuch and Adam Schuch, great grandchildren; Sydney and Nathan Gleckler, Bradley Betschman and Emma Staples. He is preceded in death by his brothers; Ivan, William and Paul Schuch and sisters; Mildred Hoover, Vera Baylis, Luella Gilbert, Grace Booth, Mary Buckles and Ellen Palmer.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Lyons Christian Church, 138 E. Morenci St., Lyons, Ohio 43533, with funeral services at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) , with Pastor Paul Bomeli officiating.
The family request any memorial contributions in Chuck’s name be made to either the Lyons Christian Church Building Fund, Lyons Fire Department EMS or Gentiva Hospice, 1745 Indian Wood Circle, Suite 200, Maumee, Ohio 43537.
