Interment with Military Rites: St. Richard's Catholic Cemetery
Charles A. Bayer Sr. age 72, long time resident of Swanton, Ohio passed away in the company of loved ones on Tuesday morning June 5, 2012 at Flower Hospital. He was born October 28, 1939 in Norwalk, Ohio to the late Dr. Charles and Mildred (Mason) Bayer. Charlie served in the US Marines and worked construction for years in the Toledo area.
He loved gardening and had a farm in Weston, Ohio. Charlie was a proud member of Sully’s Chicken Crew, and enjoyed barbecuing with the guy’s at many local events. He was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church where he volunteered many hours over the years.
He is survived by his loving children, Roberta (Edward) Price, Charles (Karen) Bayer, Jr., Brian (Lorrie) Bayer, and Douglas (Catherine) Bayer; 12 Grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren; 2 Great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marguerite Foss.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Carl.
Family and friends may gather Thursday, June 7th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the
Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Friday, June 8th
from 12 (noon) to 1:00 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, where a Mass of
Resurrection will begin at 1:00 p.m., with Fr. Ron Schock
officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Richard's Catholic
Cemetery.
