Carolyn Cecilia Simon, a devoted homemaker and cherished mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Sunday morning, March 30, 2025, at her home in the loving care of her family. Born on December 27, 1941, in Adrian, Michigan, to Norbert Joseph and Mary Cecilia (Ford) Marquis, Carolyn lived a life dedicated to her faith and family, embodying the virtues of love, compassion, and resilience.
Throughout her life, Carolyn was known for her unwavering commitment to her children—a legacy that will carry on through her six beloved kids: Jerome "JP" (Carol) Simon, Julie Simon, John Simon, Jennifer (Kirk) Ludman, Janelle (Dale) Antoszewski, and Jill Simon. Her role as a mother was paramount, and she raised her children with tender care, instilling in them the values that guided her own life.
A devout Catholic, Carolyn was a dedicated member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Assumption. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence and shaped her connection with the community. Carolyn's warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege to know her, as she often extended her nurturing spirit beyond her own family to support friends and neighbors. Carolyn enjoyed meeting her lady friends at The Charm for coffee weekly. She also loved playing in Euchre Tournaments at the local tavern.
In addition to her children, Carolyn is survived by her eleven grandchildren, who brought her great joy and pride. She also leaves behind her sister, Elaine Dennis, who shared countless memories and stories that enriched her life.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Mary Marquis and siblings, Phil Marquis, Virginia McKowen, Margorie Carr and Frank Marquis.
