Carl E. Mills, age 82, of Delta, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, July 18 2011, at Defiance Inpatient Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 13, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Jesse and Iva (Cline) Mills. He served in the United States Army. Carl married Rosalyn “Rose” Miller on July 7, 1950.

Carl worked for the former Willys Overland as a millwright and retired from Craig’s Transportation where he worked as a handyman. He enjoyed woodworking and music and loved to be just working.

He is survived by his loving children, Sue Howard and Sandy Mills; brother, Jesse (Dorothy) Mills; sister, Barbara Daubenmeyer; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his special canine companion, Toby.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; sisters, Margaret and baby Elizabeth; and son-in-law, Robert Howard.

Friends and family may visit Thursday, July 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 12 (Noon) at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 (Noon) with Rev. Donna Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
