Buster Bill Neeley, age 79, of Grand Rapids, Ohio, passed away Tuesday morning, August 27, 2024 at Grand Rapids Care Center. He was born October 1, 1944 in Munith, Michigan to John and Effie Mae (Howard) Neeley. Buster was a 1962 graduate of Stockbridge High School in Stockbridge, Michigan. On July 18, 1965, he married the love of his life, Joan Arlene Foust. In November of 1966, Buster was drafted into The United States Army, proudly serving his country.
Buster moved to the area to work as an Air Traffic Controller at Toledo Express Airport. He then started his long career in truck sales, working for Brondes Ford for many years, where he specialized in larger trucks, especially catering to the horse community. Buster then worked for Freightliner, where he sold semi trucks. He ended his long career in trucking, conducting CDL testing. Buster was also very active in the Ohio Horsemen's Council. He enjoyed trail riding and camping with friends.
Buster is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Joan; daughters, Laura (Douglas) Rufenacht and Julie (Douglas) Fullerton; sisters, Eula (Bruce) Kinney, Diane (Darryl) Howe and Sweetie Kivi; grandchildren, Dan (Bailey) Rufenacht, Erica (Matt) Ditch, Kemper Fullerton and Yvonne (Ryan) Pokornik.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where services will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Bruce Perry officiating, followed by Military Honors at the funeral home.
