Bunny Willford, age 74 of Swanton, OH, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 20th after complications from surgery. Born in Dresden, Germany on May 5th, 1940, she immigrated to Quebec, Canada in 1951 and became a Canadian citizen in 1956. Opportunity took her to Defiance, OH in 1957 where she would meet her one true love. She married Marvin Willford in September of 1958 and soon after they moved to Swanton where they built a home, started a family and raised their children.
Bunny was beautiful, outgoing and fearless. She was tall and elegant like a model, always in fashion with auburn hair as fiery as her wit. She liked to travel, whether it was around the world or just camping with Marv and the kids in their old camper. From her beautiful penmanship to her stylish outfits, Bunny was simply graceful. She was proud of her German heritage, yet she was really just an allAmerican girl who found a life and opportunity in America. She was surrounded by her children when she said goodbye and left us peacefully, albeit far too soon.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents Herbert & Irmgard Goldner; she is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Marvin Willford, sister Ricky Mussgnug and family, daughters Angela (Rocco) Hogrefe & Anita (Robert) Swartz and son Alan (Lisa) Willford, grandchildren Amber(Kyle), Ally, Ashley, Andrea, Austin, Sydney & Zachary and great-grandchildren Alexus, Bryce, Conner, Gage & Blakely.
The family will celebrate Bunny’s life privately; in lieu of flowers, you are
encouraged to make a donation to the Swanton, OH library in Bunny’s name. The family also wishes to thank St. Luke’s Hospital ICU nurses Kevin, Theresa & Joe for their compassion and professionalism.
