Beverly Jean Bloomfield, age 65, of Monclova, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord, Friday evening, October 10, 2008. Her son, Sonny, had the blessing to lead her to the Lord Jesus, so she would know how to be in Heaven one day.

She was born February 12, 1943, in Delta, Ohio to Glenn and Ella (Metcalf) Smith. She grew up in the Winameg/Delta area and attended Winameg and Delta schools. In the late 1950’s, her family moved to Monroe County, Michigan. She attended Summerfield schools and was a 1961 graduate of Ida high school.

On January 29, 1964, she married Archie Bloomfield. At an early age, she started working for Merricks as a meat wrapper, and later worked as a custodian for Anthony Wayne Schools, retiring in 1989. Beverly loved to cook and read recipes for new cooking ideas. She raised rabbits to show at the fair and enjoyed shopping at garage sales and thrift stores. She also enjoyed camping, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Archie, daughter, Christine (Douglas) Hartle; son, Sonny Bloomfield; grandchildren, Jeremy and Zachary Hartle; siblings, Maurice (Bonnie) Smith, Beatrice Stevens, Patricia (Phil) Galloro, Glenn Jr. (Shirley) Smith, Gerald (Beverly) Smith and Sandra Smith, as well as sisters-in-law, Jane Crabtree, Thelma Rathburn and Bertha Adkins; brother-in-law, Dean Treadway and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are special friends, Gilbert Garcia, Larry and Kathy Barnes, Johanna Milburn and her daughter, Gabby, Bryan Linnenkugel and Howard Griffith.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Julius Bloomfield; mother-in-law, Evelyn Bloomfield; brothers-in-law, Richard Bloomfield and John Adkins and sisters-in-law, Evelyn Treadway, Maxine Kelley, Ollie Pickett and Rose Shelton.

Friends and family may visit Tuesday, October 14th from 2 to 8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419-826-2631). Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home, with Pastors Russell Merrin and Oscar Velazquez officiating. Interment will follow at Monclova Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Monclova Road Baptist Church.
