Betty Ann Weideman

Betty Ann Weideman, age 92, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away Wednesday morning, October 4, 2023 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 16, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio to Sylvester and Anna (Walerius) Vollmar. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Metamora High School, she married the love of her life, Robert James Weideman on June 27, 1964.

Betty worked for Amerisource for 44 years, retiring in 1993. She was an auxiliary member of American Legion Post #479. Betty loved baking, sewing, painting, making gorgeous flower arrangements and dancing, she and Bob used to go out dancing 3 nights a week. She also made numerous wedding and anniversary cakes for family and friends. Her and Bob would often travel together to many destinations, Italy being her favorite trip.

Betty is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Weideman; daughter, Sue (Jack) Westrup; grandson, Jason (Sandy) Westrup; great-grandchildren, Emma Westrup, Anna Westrup, Keaton Gurney and Bradley Gurney.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Weideman and sister, Grace Vollmar.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 9th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Visitation will continue Tuesday, October, 10th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am, with Fr. Walter Tuscano presiding. Interment will follow at Marygrove Cemetery.
