Betty Jane Shambarger, age 85, of Jasper, Michigan, passed away Thursday evening, September 1, 2011 at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Michigan. She was born December 26, 1925 in Metamora, Ohio to Conda and Ada (Feight) Snyder. She married James Shambarger and was a homemaker raising their two sons.

She is survived by her husband, James; sons, Robert (Linda) Shambarger of Bryan, OH and Richard (Anna Lee) Shambarger of Mason, MI; grandchildren, Megan Williams of Warsaw, IN and Merit Shambarger of West Salem, OH; 2 great-grandchildren, Addison and Layton Williams; and sisters, Mary Habel of Lyons, OH and Grace Yurnikl of Blissfield, MI.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frieda Gadzialski; and brothers, John, Charles, James, and William Snyder.

Friends and family may visit Tuesday, September 6th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 413 E. Main St. in Metamora. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Michael Dunson officiating. Interment will follow at Amboy Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lenawee Medical Care Facility or Adrian First Church of the Nazarene.
