Betty Holland

Betty Holland, age 84, of Waterville, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monday afternoon, December 16, 2013, at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born August 25, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to Clarence Seel and Fern (Snider) Milewski. On March 3, 1962, she married her beloved husband, James Holland. Betty was a homemaker raising their six children.

Betty was a member of St. Patricks of Heatherdowns Catholic Parish in Toledo, where she sang in the funeral choir and was an RCIA sponsor. Her greatest joy was watching and taking care of her grandchildren, and was known to videotape all of their special activities.

Betty will be greatly missed by her husband of 51 years, James; children, Karen (Michael) Taylor-Green, Richard (Brenda) Taylor, Chris (Debbie) Taylor, Regan (Craig) Cliff, and Jamie (Tonya) Holland; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen Loch; grandson, David Loch, and sister, Dee Dee Brady.

Family and Friends may visit Friday, December 20th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 204 Chestnut St. in Swanton (419.826.2631), where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will be held Saturday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 333 Brookside Dr. in Swanton. Interment will follow at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens in Waterville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Richard Church for Masses, The Alzheimer’s Association, or Ebeid Hospice.


Visitation: Friday, December 20th from 2 to 8 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton

Mass of Resurrection: Saturday, December 21st at 10:00 am at St. Richard Catholic Church in Swanton

Interment: Highland Memory Gardens
