Betty Jane Hobling, age 82, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Betty was born August 10, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio to Ralph and Mildred (Parent) Good. Betty always told her children she and her sisters were the “Good” girls. Betty married Melvin James Hobling on July 25, 1953, they took care of each other for almost 50 years before Jim’s death in June 2003.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also was an avid bingo player, jigsaw puzzle worker and coupon clipper. As much as Betty loved spending time with her family she also enjoyed her alone time. When she was ready to leave a family gathering she would put on her coat, pick up her purse and away she would go. And so it was with her death, she had decided 82 years was enough and away she went to join her loved ones who preceded her in death; her parents; husband Jim; son and daughter-in-law, Archie “Butch” and Diane Hobling; grandson, Nathan McDaniel; and her sisters, Alma Brown, Joanne King, and Sally Nopper.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Chuck Fleming; granddaughters, Carrie (Tim) Shaffer, Sara (Tim) Riley, Alysia (Jeremiah) Snyder, and Jamie Hobling; step-grandchildren, Conjia (Chip) Bridges, Tammy Kyles, and Rodger (Michelle) Fleming; great-grandchildren, Skylar and Wyatt Shaffer, Grant Snyder, Tyler Hitt, and Chandler Fleming; brothers, Robert (Phyliss) Good and Omer Good.

Her family is honoring her request of no visitation and suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
