Betty J. (Nagel) Grimes, age 79, of Delta, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at home, Tuesday morning, March 17, 2009. She was born December 4, 1929 in Swanton, Ohio to Thomas C. and Lillian (Whalen) Parker. She was a 1947 graduate of Swanton High School.

Betty was a devoted housewife and mother. She loved her family, flowers and dogs. She enjoyed decorating her house for the holidays. Betty was a member of the Delta Eagles.

She is survived by her loving children, Marilyn (Gene) Waugh, Carolyn Jane Nagel, Donna (Bill) Rice, Bob (Peg) Nagel, Ron Nagel and Judy (Lennie) Thourot; daughter-in-law, Eva Nagel; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Eleanor Stoll and Emerson Lantz.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry Nagel; grandson Joseph Knapp; sister, Hazel Sweet and brothers, Lewis, William, Harold and Bob Parker.

Friends and family may visit Thursday, March 19th from 2 to 8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where an Eagles service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 20th at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home with Pastor David Rison officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Epileptic Association or American Cancer Society.
