Bernetta Mae Krauss, age 84, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday evening, March 2, 2010. She was born May 15, 1925 in Berne, Indiana to Clifford and Ella (Neuhauser) Fluckinger. She attended Warner Beauty College and Wright University. Bernetta worked as a hairdresser for 5 years, and was employed by the State of Ohio for 14 years, working at the Ohio Veteran’s Children’s Home, retiring in 1989. On September 16, 1995, she married Edward Krauss.
Bernetta was a member of the Crossroads Evangelical Church in Wauseon and the Tatter Club.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; sons, Gary (Gretchen) Meller, Jerry (Delores) Meller, and Jack (Pam) Meller; stepchildren, Linda (Mike) Falor, Susan (Randy) Stultz, and Tom (Elaine) Krauss; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Merlin (Nancy) Fluckinger; sister, Phyllis (Dean) Short; and her first husband, Russell Meller.
Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Margaret Fluckinger; and sister, Carol Miller.
Friends and family may visit Friday, March 5th from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Evangelical Church, 845 E. Leggett St., in Wauseon with Pastor Matt Boyers officiating. Private interment will be held at Pettisville Cemetery with Rev. Roger Andrews officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Children’s Home, Miracle Camp, or Hospice of Williams & Fulton County.
