Archie L. Cornell

Archie Lavern Cornell, age 89, a life-long resident of Swanton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, early Saturday morning, January 5, 2013. He was born September 9, 1923 to Lavern and Doris Mae (Smith) Cornell. Archie married Lucille Mae Osterhout on November 8, 1947, and she preceded him in death January 4, 1994.

Archie is survived by his children, Sandra (Fred) Houck, Charles Cornell, Irene Sue (Marshall) Vandiver, Thomas (Elizabeth) Cornell, Martha (Kerry) Browning, and Wanda (Dennis) Flory; 25 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Lavern and Doris, and wife, Lucille, Archie was preceded in death by his son, Mark Cornell; and 6 sisters.

Family and friends may visit, Tuesday, January 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 12 (Noon) at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton, where funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) with Rev. Randy Trowbridge officiating. Interment will follow at South Swanton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Swanton Health Care & Retirement Center.
