Anthony “Tony” Smazenka, Jr., age 67, of Lyons, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly in his home, Thursday, May 6, 2010. He was born October 12, 1942 in Royalton Twp., Ohio to Anthony and Elizabeth (Pokornik) Smazenka. Following high school graduation, Tony worked in the factory at Campbell’s Soup and also worked at Markee Bronze.

Tony was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. He was a unique individual and sports car enthusiast. He loved driving Corvettes and Mustangs and enjoyed fishing at the Delta reservoir. Tony was a good companion and caretaker of his mother until her death on October 14, 1997.

Tony is survived by his uncle, Jerry Pokornik of Lyons, OH; aunt, Bessie Pokornik of Lyons, OH; as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held Friday, May 14th at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, where visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. Fr. Ron Schock will officiate. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or the Lyons Fire & Rescue.
