Andrew Samek, age 21, of Swanton, Ohio, passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 7, 2010 in his home. He was the son of Thomas and Karen (Schmidlin) Samek, and brother to Nicholas Samek. Andrew was a graduate of Swanton High School and presently attending Owens Community College. He enjoyed life to its fullest, especially family vacations to the beach with family and friends around. He was always there when you needed a friend or just someone to listen. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tom and Karen; brother, Nicholas; grandmother, Marsha Schmidlin; great-grandfather, Arthur Schmidlin; uncles and aunts, Mike and Connie (Miller) Schmidlin, Steve and Kristy (Hudik) Schmidlin, Becky (Schmidlin) and Howard Foor, Fred and Audry Wegener, Max and Martha (Poca) Wegener, Larry Wegener, Patti Wegener, Keith Wegener; and all his surrounding cousins and extended family.

Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Schmidlin and great-grandmother, Marjorie Schmidlin.
