Alice Rose Nichols

Alice Rose Nichols, age 87, life-long resident of Assumption, Ohio, entered into eternal rest, Thursday afternoon, November 11, 2021, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania. Alice was born February 7, 1934 in Assumption to Joseph and Mary (Marvin) Pinkelman. She was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary’s School and married her beloved husband, Glenn W. Nichols on June 23, 1956. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2009.

Alice was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and its Altar & Rosary Society. She worked for Bricks Greenhouse and was known to be the fastest strawberry picker around. She retired from the St. Mary’s Meat Locker. Alice enjoyed family camping trips, working word searches and puzzles. She loved a good game of BINGO and trying her luck at the Casinos. At one time, Alice won playing Triple 777 Ohio Lottery scratch off, and she was absolutely hooked!

Alice will be dearly missed by her daughters, Brenda (Phillip) Langenderfer, Cheryl McIntosh and Deanne (Lyle) Hawkins; grandchildren, Haley Lankford, Angie (Aaron) Caldwell, Travis Walter, Coreen Wagner, Adam Langenderfer, and Cory (Paige) Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Annabelle Walter, Brendan Wagner, Micah Walter and Holtan Wagner; sister, Joan (Virgil) Mosiniak; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Glenn, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Pinkelman; sister, Eileen Havens; son-in-law, Monte Uyttenhove; and grandchildren, Courtney, Jeremiah and Tyler Uyttenhove.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 16th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Metamora. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Assumption, with Fr. Michael Dandurand presiding. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Parish or Metamora Fire & Rescue.
