Alice M. Giardini

Alice M. Giardini, a registered nurse for 60 years, passed away peacefully in her Swanton home, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the age of 81. Alice was born February 1, 1934 in Northbridge, Massachusetts to Francis and Mildred (Hopkins) Clark. She married her beloved husband, Paul Giardini on August 30, 1958. Together they raised five wonderful children.

Alice will be remembered as a person who put others needs and interests above her own. She was extremely dedicated to her family and her nursing career. She worked at the Fulton Manor in Wauseon, before retiring in 2014.

Alice was a very active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Swanton, where she served on church council and the N.O.W. committee. She was also active with the Northwest Ohio Walk to Emmaus community, serving as its lay director.

Alice will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Paul; children, Christine (Patrick) Miller of Ashland, OH, Eleanor "Ellie" (Michael) Jordan of Swanton, OH, Paul Giardini of Delta, Ohio, Gail (Robert) Schantz of Harrod, OH, and Phyllis (Allen) Aumend of Phoenix, AZ; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

Family and friends may visit Wednesday, December 9th from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton (419.826.2631). Visitation will continue Thursday, December 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor J.T. Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Swanton Cemetery.
