Alexander J. Schneider, a beloved son, brother, and friend passed away on, Tuesday, April 16, 2024. He was born on January 20, 2003, in Toledo, Ohio, to Michael J. Schneider and Jennifer (Buckenmeyer) Schneider. In his short but impactful life, Alex accomplished much and made a difference in the lives of those around him. A recent graduate of Clay High School in 2021, he was thriving in his career as the Assistant Manager at O'Rilley Auto Parts before his untimely departure.
Alex's interests were as diverse as they were deep-rooted. He had a remarkable talent for mechanical work - adept at disassembling and fixing motors with ease. Vintage cars held a special place in his heart, reflecting his appreciation for craftsmanship and nostalgia. Apart from tinkering with engines, Alex found solace in attending church with his beloved grandmother, Sherry; their Sunday morning rituals were cherished moments of peace and reflection.
A devout follower of God and an active member of the Neapolis Church of Christ community, Alex dedicated his time to volunteering and running video equipment during various church events. His commitment to service extended to helping out during Vacation Bible School sessions; his presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Alex touched the lives of many with his gentle soul and sweet demeanor.
Music was another one of Alex's loves - ranging from the classic tunes of Hank Williams I, to the energetic melodies of Dropkick Murphys. Nature called to him, whether it was through fishing trips or hunting excursions; he found joy in the great outdoors. Alex's compassionate spirit also extended to animals, especially dogs - where some dubbed him a "dog whisperer" for his innate ability to connect with them.
Alex's passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled; however, we find solace in the memories we shared with him and the lasting impact he made during his time with us. Let us remember him for the light he brought into our lives and carry forward the lessons he imparted through his kindness and selflessness. Rest in peace, dear Alex - you will always be remembered fondly by those whose lives you touched profoundly.
In this difficult time of grief, Alex is survived by his mother Jennifer (Jeff Sibberson) Schneider, sister Dana Schneider, grandparents Tim and Sherry Buckenmeyer, Mike and Peggy Schneider, Carol Swiatkowski, as well as a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Alex is preceded in death by his father Michael Schneider; great-aunt Becky Holmes; great-uncle Abe Buckenmeyer; and several great-grandparents.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 23rd from 2 to 7 pm at the Weigel Funeral Home in Swanton.
